A Bangor man is facing charges after allegedly attacking a McDonald's employee.

Paul Bernard, 61, of Bangor, is charged with elevated aggravated assault, which is a class A felony.

Bangor Police Officers were called to the McDonald's restaurant at 441 Main Street just before 6:30 Sunday morning for a report that an unknown man had assaulted an employee with a knife.

When first responders arrived, the officers took Mr. Bernard into custody and transported him to the police department.

The employee, whose name has not been released, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he's being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
