Folks are invited for a fun night of food and amazing auction items Sunday, all to support Project Graduation for Bangor High School's Class of 2017.

Project Graduation is awesome! If you've never heard the term before, it's a project that centers around creating chem-free celebrations for new graduates so that they're not drinking and driving on graduation night. But, if you think it's just a sad dance with no alcohol, you're wrong. Project Graduation parties can involve everything from swimming pools, to massage therapists giving shoulder rubs, to amazing food and movies. When I heard about my sons' parties, I was sorry I hadn't volunteered as a chaperone!

I chatted with Janice Rand this week, who's one of the organizers of Bangor's Project Graduation. She couldn't give me many details about what they have planned because it's supposed to be a surprise for the students, but she promised that it's going to be a lot of fun. But that fun comes at a price, so fundraising is in order.

This Sunday, organizers will be doing just that with an incredible auction. So far, over $10,000 worth of items have been donated, and the donations are still pouring in! While you can't bid on anything yet, you can preview the items on the Bidding Owl website. I checked it out and there's everything from a kayak to Red Sox tickets, restaurant gift certificates, and more! They're auctioning off experiences too, like a ride to a Bangor school in a fire truck or a police cruiser, or you could sit in on one of Townsquare Media's morning shows!

Janice said there will be plenty of food, with pulled chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. The afternoon will start with a silent auction and end with a live auction. And there's no charge to get in. Bring the family (and your wallet) to Bangor High School's gym this Sunday. The preview starts at 3:00.
