Where Was the Fire?

The fire was called in just after 9:00 Thursday night at 59 Kenduskeag Avenue. Crews from several area towns, including Brewer, Orono, and Holden were called in to assist in fighting the blaze. WVII-TV reports neighbors reported the fire after hearing what sounded like an explosion.

Was Anyone Hurt?

Bangor Fire Department says eight people were displaced by the fire but no one was hurt. Firefighters were even able to rescue five pets, who were not harmed.

How Did It Start?

The fire was contained to a single unit of the four-apartment building, thanks to the quick work of firefighters, although the other three units suffered smoke and water damage. The affected apartment is considered a total loss. Now the State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating to determine how it started.
