Michael Keilty, 42, of Bangor, is charged with possession of sexually explicit material.
The Investigation That Led to Keilty's Arrest Began With a Tip to the Maine State Police
The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Bangor Police Department, based on a tip received by the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit that indicated sexually explicit material was allegedly being shared from Keilty's residence. Detectives at the home executed a search warrant and seized several digital media items, that were turned over to forensic examiners at the Bangor Police Department. Their investigation allegedly uncovered videos depicting sexually explicit material of children under the age of 12. An arrest warrant was issued for Michael Keilty and he was taken into custody.
This case remains under investigation.
