Bangor Man Charged With 4 Felonies For Firearms Theft
A traffic stop resulted in a local man being charged with four felonies for a burglary that included the theft of several firearms.
Bangor Man Faces Four Felony Charges
Mark Perkins, 31, of Bangor is charged with one felony count of burglary and three felony counts of theft.
The Burglary Suspect Was Located During a Bangor Traffic Stop
Bangor Police Sergeant Jason McAmbley says Perkins was a passenger in a car that was pulled over by an officer shortly after 10:00 Wednesday morning. Officials had been looking for Perkins, who had been identified as a suspect in a burglary in which firearms were stolen, as well as other items. Perkins was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and booked.
Perkins Directed Police to an Ohio Street Home to Recover the Stolen Firearms
Police say Perkins admitted to committing multiple thefts and burglaries in Bangor, and told the police where the firearms and other stolen items were located. Based on his information, the Bangor Special Response Team served a search warrant at an Ohio Street home Wednesday evening. The stolen firearms were recovered during that search, as well as other items that were believed to have been taken in other burglaries in Bangor. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
