An Intense Fire at a Belfast Inn Has Displaced 20 Families
20 families were displaced by a fire Monday night at a Belfast hotel.
Where Was the Fire?
According to Belfast Fire and EMS, firefighters were called to the Admirals Ocean Inn just after 11:00 Monday night. When the crews arrived, they found the second story heavily involved in flames that were shooting through the roof.
Was Anyone Hurt?
Fire officials requested assistance from the Belmont, Morrill, Searsport, and Monroe Fire Departments. Quick work from firefighters limited the damage to only four rooms.
No tenants or firefighters were hurt in the incident.
Do the Residents Have a Place to Stay?
There were 20 families displaced by the fire. The maintenance director for the Admirals Ocean Inn was able to find alternative housing for all the residents.
Now, the Maine State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
