Another Juvenile Charged For Assaults On Bangor Homeless
Bangor Police say another juvenile has been charged in connection with assaults on homeless people.
Bangor Police began their investigation after answering a call about a homeless man who had been assaulted on the waterfront on July 31st. 18-year-old Liam Geagan of Brewer (pictured) was arrested and charged with class D Assault and 19-year-old Benjamin Gilliland of Bangor received a summons for Assault, as did a local juvenile.
Several videos of the random acts of violence against the homeless were shared on Facebook. The videos included the assaults that Geagan and Gilliland are accused of participating in. An ongoing investigation, as a result of the videos, resulted in Geagan being charged with an additional charge of Aggravated Assault, which is a class B felony.
Another local juvenile has also been charged with Assault, bringing the total number of suspects facing charges to four. Police say the process of identifying each of the suspects and victims from the videos is ongoing and additional charges are likely.
