Auburn Police are investigating a crash that killed a Texas man, and injured two others who are from out of state.

Where Did The Crash Happen?

It was just after 8:00 on Wednesday evening, June 14th, when Auburn Police and Fire Departments responded to a fatal crash in the area of 405 Merrow Road in Auburn. When they arrived they found a 2012 Ford pickup truck that had struck a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Have Police Released the Identities of the 3 People Involved?

There were three people at the scene. Pablo Trivino, 24, of Boynton Beach, Florida was driving the vehicle. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as did one of the passengers, Riker Hicks 17, of Mobile, Alabama. They were both treated and released from Central Maine Medical Center.

The third person in the vehicle, Aaron Kirk, 29, of Porter, Texas was ejected from the vehicle. He died from his injuries.

What Contributed to the Crash?

Auburn Police say the vehicle that the trio was riding in had been traveling west on Merrow Road at a high rate of speed. When Trivino tried to brake, he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and strike a tree. Officials say this is an open and ongoing investigation. So far, no charges have been filed.
