5 People Arrested When Millinocket Traffic Stop Nets Drugs, Cash

East Millinocket Police say five people are facing charges after a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of a variety of illegal drugs.

What Drugs Were Seized?

The vehicle containing five people was stopped shortly before 11:00 Monday night on Central Street in Millinocket. Officials say when Officer Jones began talking with the driver, Lauren Curtis of St. George, he noticed signs that caused him to suspect she was under the influence of alcohol. He conducted field sobriety tests and then arrested her for operating under the influence.

During a search of the vehicle, officers seized Psilocybin, Adderall, and MDMA, as well as evidence of drug trafficking. Also taken in the search was over $3,800 in suspected drug proceeds.

Who Was Arrested?

All five people were placed under arrest:

• Lauren Curtis, 23, of St. George is charged with operating under the influence, unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, and possession of scheduled drugs
• Lee Smith, 39, of Sarasota, Florida is charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs
• Rocki Prophet, 42, of Hope is charged with possession of scheduled drugs and unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs
• Jacob Philip, 31, of Rockland is charged with possession of scheduled drugs and unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs
• Jaynie Butler, 32, of Thomaston is charged with violation of bail and unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs

They were transported to the Penobscot County Jail. Officials say this investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
