
40 Fugitives Wanted for Violent Crimes Were Arrested in Maine
A large-scale operation by local, state, and federal authorities resulted in the apprehension of 40 fugitives in Maine.
All of the Fugitives Apprehended in Maine Were Wanted for Violent Crimes
The names of the fugitives were not included in a release by the U.S. Marshals Service, but officials say the suspects were wanted for a variety of charges. The Marshals Service Task Force partnered with the Lewiston and Biddeford Police Departments to take the suspects into custody who were wanted for violent offences including drug offenses, sex offenses, human trafficking, weapon offenses, and other violent crimes. Officials say all those taken into custody had a nexus to Maine.

The Arrests Focused on Two Maine Communities
The arrests were made as part of a one-month long initiative called 'Operation Triple Beam,' which has an overall goal of fostering safer communities and reducing violent crime. This initiative specifically focused on combating violent crimes in Lewiston and Biddeford.
