3 Arrested in Cherryfield for Allegedly Selling Cocaine, Fentanyl
Two women from Maine and a man from New York are all facing charges in connection with a drug bust in Cherryfield.
Who Was Arrested?
The Maine Drug Enforcement Downeast Regional Task Force has been working with Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office for the past month, investigating the sale of drugs in the region, including some undercover drug purchases. Officials learned that individuals from outside Maine were traveling to Western Washington County, where they would coordinate with local drug traffickers to distribute the illegal drugs.
Three people were arrested as a result of this investigation:
- Mandy Kane, 42, of Addison is charged with unlawful trafficking in cocaine base
- Samantha Jo Moore, 20, of Machiasport is charged with unlawful trafficking in fentanyl
- Willie Wynn, 20, of Rochester, New York is charged with theft and aggravated unlawful trafficking in fentanyl and cocaine
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Mandy Kane was arrested in Cherryfield. Samantha Jo Moore was located driving a vehicle, which was stopped by police. Moore and Wynn, who was a passenger in the vehicle were both arrested on drug charges. Wynn was also charged with theft for a firearm seized by authorities that was found in his pocket.
What Drugs Were Seized?
After the traffic stop, a search warrant was executed at Wynn's rented room at the Red Barn Motel in Milbridge. Officials seized approximately 66 grams of cocaine base and 41 grams of fentanyl. All three suspects were transported to the Washington County Jail.
