The Bangor Band will host its annual Christmas concert this Sunday at Peake's Auditorium.

It's a great way to celebrate the season .Starting at 3:00 Sunday afternoon, December 15th, the Bangor Band will perform a wide range of concert band Christmas and holiday favorites. The performance will include something for everyone, including a rousing arrangement of Hanukkah songs. And the kids will love it when Santa stops by for a visit.

Admission to the concert is free, although the group does accept donations. The Bangor Band is conducted by my high school band director, Curvin Farnham. I can tell you, with Mr. Farnham at the helm, you know the music will be excellent. (he would settle for nothing less)  Assistant conductors are Scott Burditt and Dr. Philip Edelman.

The Bangor Band is one of the oldest continuous community bands in the United States, having been originally formed in 1859 as the Bangor Cornet Band. The group changed its name to the Bangor Band in 1877.
