Penobscot County officials have released the identity of a driver who ran his vehicle into a building in Milford.

The Milford Driver is Facing Charges

A member of the Milford Fire Department, Wayne Feero, 52, of Milford is charged with operating under the influence.

Was Anyone Hurt in the Incident?

The Penobscot Regional Communication Center first learned of the crash just before midnight on Saturday. A caller told them a vehicle had crashed into a building on the Main Road in Milford.

Deputies responded to the scene and discovered that the driver, Feero, had failed to negotiate a turn and struck the vacant building. Wayne was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash. Wayne Feero is a Lieutenant with the Milford Fire Department.

What Caused the Crash?

According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, an investigation into the circumstances of the incident determined that alcohol has been a factor. Feero was charged with OUI.
