A lack of snow is not discouraging us, as the Q-106.5 Pine Tree Camp Egg Ride will go on as scheduled, and the eggs will break!

This is not the first year that Q-106.5's Pine Tree Camp Egg Ride has dealt with having no snow. It's challenging, but not impossible for us to get the eggs from the Hungry Hollows 76ers Snowmobile Club in Levant to the Newport Elementary School. What's so challenging, you ask, about riding on stationary snowmobiles on trailers? Well, you try loading up with hundreds of eggs and then lifting your leg high enough to climb on that trailer! It's not easy!

And, as you can see from the above picture, the eggs break just as much riding on the trailers as they do when we're on the trails. No question, we'll be super-messy by the time we reach the end! Just a reminder too, this year's ride will wind up at the Newport Elementary School, which is different from past years. We're all looking forward to sitting on those tiny little chairs. (without eggs, of course. WITH eggs would be impossible!)

Our celebrity riders this year include newbie morning guy Scott Miller, midday announcer Amanda McDonald, and afternoon guy Erik Owens from Q-106.5. Kelly Dodge is riding in memory of her husband Corey Dodge, who was killed in a terrorist attack while working in Afghanistan. We'll have some of the guys from North Woods Law along for the ride. (they're always fun, throwing eggs while simultaneously looking innocent). And ride inventor Bob Duchesne is coming along, although he'll be documenting the ride, rather than egging up.

Donations are pouring in, but we always need more! You can make an immediate donation, with a credit card, on our website. If you're in the Hermon area, you can stop into Danforth's Downhome Supermarket and donate in person. We'll be there from 2 to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow, and on Friday we'll stick around til 9! Or you can call us at (207) 991-9500 and we'll take your pledge. Then, once the ride is over, you'll be sent a letter that will tell you where to send your donation.

It's our 30th year, so we're shooting for at least $30,000.00, and we have a long way to go, so make your donation today! And thanks!
