Musicians from around the state will gather, once again this year, to play a benefit for homeless veterans. This is the 5th year for the popular event and it keeps getting bigger and better!

Our friend Debbie Myers stopped by last week to tell us about the event, that will feature a talented line-up. Debbie says she's kicking things off (and hinted at a 'surprise' before she hits the stage). Also performing will be Peter Allen, Denny Breau, Ken and Jane Brooks, Frank Coffin and Malinda Liberty, Bob Elston, Chris Fyfe, Lisa Higgins, Nashville Recording Artist Jacob Smalley, Emerald Sky, Sharon (Hood) Buck and Dixon Road, Debbie Morin, Brenda Millett, Mainely Country Band, Fred 'Tommy' Thompson, and Dan Corbett!

In addition to the music, there will be refreshments, and a silent auction with great items for folks to bid on! The auction begins at noon and the music starts at one o'clock.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Homeless Veterans' program, an organization that operates through Togus Veterans' Hospital. It will help provide things like warm clothing and housing, but also smaller needs. It's not enough to put someone in a house, they also need the simplest things that we take for granted everyday.

All the fun happens Sunday, beginning at noon at the Augusta Armory. For more information, log onto the event's Facebook page. We hope you can stop by, have some fun, and support the men and women who risked their lives to protect our Country!
