Authorities responded to a head-on collision on Route 27 just south of the Mason Road in Edgecomb Monday morning just after 7 AM. 

The Boothbay Register reports the accident between a Volvo and a Nissan Pathfinder may have been caused by slippery roads during a sleet storm. There were two people in the Volvo and just the driver in the Pathfinder.

Responding departments included Boothbay Region Ambulance, Lincoln County Sheriff’s, Edgecomb Fire Department, Wiscasset Fire Department, and Wiscasset Ambulance.

The names and conditions of those involved have not been released at this time.
