One man is dead after a stabbing in Bangor.

Bangor Police Sgt. Paul Edwards says they were called to outer Ohio Street last night around 6 p.m. and found a man bleeding in the parking lot. He died later at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Officers located a vehicle that left the scene of the crime and have interviewed the occupants of the car.

Sgt. Edwards has not yet identified the victim’s name or age, and says Bangor PD is working with the Attorney General’s Office on the investigation.

Sgt. Edwards gave no other information in terms of a motive for the stabbing or how many people have been questioned in connection with the case.

He did say, however, police believe the people involved knew each other and there’s no general threat to the public.
