Everything You Need To Know About the Darling’s Sun of a Beach Festival
July 12th is almost here!!! As any listener can tell you, we've been getting pretty excited about the upcoming Darling’s Sun of a Beach Festival and we hope you have, too! As we all grab our flip flops and beach chairs to head out to the festival, we wanted to make sure you knew everything there was to know about the day so you can be super prepared to have a blast!
The Sun of a Beach Festival will be located right along the river in Waterfront Park. If you are familiar with the waterfront, there is a large compass rose design in the side walk at the corner of Front Street and Railroad Street.
This compass rose is where our gates will be located, opening at 2 p.m. The Q’s own JR Mitchell will be kicking off the party with his best party mixes dubbing himself “DJ Silverdork” and Cindy Campbell will be on hand to help him get the crowd going with some surprising and juicy (hint, hint) games.
Local favorites, the Trendy Robots, will be taking the stage at 3 p.m. to preform upbeat and exciting new arrangements of today’s best hits.
As the party blazes on, ZBTB, the nation’s #1 Zac Brown tribute band, will begin their set at 4:30 p.m. ZBTB is always the life of the party with group “socials.” You won’t believe your ears as they truly capture the Zac Brown experience.
Rounding out the evening at 6:30 p.m. is the highly anticipated return of Changes in Latitudes. Put your fins up and grab a cold beverage as you are whisked away to Margaritaville with the premier Jimmy Buffett tribute band. Steve and the gang will have you singing along to all your favorite beachy tunes.
This is sure to be a day packed with the best island vibes in Bangor. We do strongly recommend bringing your own chair or beach blanket. Our friends from Nocturnem Draft Haus with be serving up ice cold Landshark, Bud Light, Geaghan’s Refueler, Johnny Appleseed Cider, Strawberitas and Limearitas. What a selection to choose from!
In our vending area, we will have a delicious, wide variety of foods to enjoy. The Whoopie Café will be on hand serving up ice cream whoopie pies. Shorey Bakery will be flipping cheeseburgers in paradise as well as dishing out funnel cakes and French fries. Rocky Point Clam Cakes will be there to add a great seafood option as well as hand cut fries. To round out the best beach party goods, Mainely Hot Dogs will bring the classics. Just joining the party, Dip 'Em Donuts will be on site for all your mini donut and iced coffee needs!
With so many food and drink options, coolers are prohibited. We also strongly suggest hitting the ATM before heading over to the festival as there is no ATM inside the festival grounds. With more vendors like Abby’s Cabs, Origami Owl, Sun Tan City, Tradewinds Resorts, AAA Travel, and Pirate Up! Tee Shirts, there will be plenty to browse and take home! Just like most ticketed festivals, once you have entered, if you choose to leave, there is no reentry.
We can’t wait to spend the day with you this Saturday, July 12th at the Darling’s Sun of a Beach Festival presented by Port Harbor Marine. The weather is forecasted to be 85 and sunny. With a little breeze off the water, it is the perfect beach day! Remember to grab your tickets in advance from the link below for only $15, at the gate day of they will be $20, who doesn't want to save $5 for their first beer?
We’ll see you in Maragritaville!
