World Premiere Video: Ashley Monroe’s ‘Weed Instead of Roses’

A short time ago, Q-106.5's, JR Mitchell, posted the Fresh Track of the Day featuring Tennessee native Ashley Monroe and her new release, 'Weed Instead of Roses.' And right now the country world seems to be flying high on the song.

The song arrives at an interesting time: Marijuana seems to be more culturally accepted, and the flavoring of country music today appears to have more of an urban spice to it. 'Weed Instead of Roses' seems to say, 'Put that in your pipe and smoke it.' And as far as the sound goes, it's twangy like the old country tunes, unlike what some artists are cranking out today like Luke Bryan's 'That's My Kind of Night.'

I love her approach to the video. It's has that old 60's early 70's quality.
