A soldier, who's originally from Maine, died over the weekend while trying to stop an armed robbery in an Arkansas convenience store.

23-year-old Shawn Mckeough Jr. was a customer in the Valero Big Red convenience store on Friday night, when two armed suspects walked in. North Little Rock Police say Mckeough tried to intervene, but was shot and killed by the suspects. There is now a $10,000 reward being offered for information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of the pair responsible for the murder. One appears to be a man, but the other suspect had a panda hat on, with a red scarf covering his or her face.

The Portland Press Herald reports Mckeough graduated from Westbrook High School in 2014 and was serving as a senior airman with the United States Air Force, at the time of his death. He was stationed at the Little Rock Air Force Base.
