Waterville Shooting Victim Identified as 22-Year-Old Winslow Man
A man who died in a shooting in Waterville has been identified as a man from Winslow.
What Do We Know About the Deceased?
The deceased has been identified as Justin Iraola, 22, of Winslow. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Where Did the Shooting Take Place?
Waterville and Maine State Police continue to investigate this shooting that was reported at approximately 8:10 Monday morning. Police responded to 18 South Grove Street in Waterville and found Iraola deceased. At first, it was reported that a second person had suffered a gunshot wound, but police have since determined that no one else was hurt.
Was This Murder?
While the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, officials are not commenting on the manner of death. In other words, they are not releasing whether the death was the result of a homicide, suicide, or whether it was accidental.
Police say there is no danger to the public. Additional information will be released as the investigation continues.
