An unlicensed 15-year-old girl was killed in a single-car crash, and her teenage passengers injured.

WABI-TV reports Isabelle Manahan of Newcastle was driving a car that was traveling along Parsons Point Road in Edgecomb at around 2:00 Friday afternoon when the vehicle left the roadway and struck multiple trees. Traveling with her were a 14-year-old and two 15-year-olds, who were all hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.

Officials say all four teens were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Speed and inexperience are believed to have been factors. Police are now working to determine the events leading up to the crash, including how the girl, who did not have a driver's license, got access to the car.

We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
