Two concerts in the same part of Bangor will cause some traffic congestion in the Main Street/Waterfront area starting this afternoon, so motorists are advised to avoid the area if they can.

Ringo Starr will be appearing with his All-Star Band at the Cross Insurance Center this evening. The show starts at 7:30, but there will be an All-Star Pre-Show Lawn party from 5:30 to 6:30 on the Paul Bunyan lawn. The pre-show party is free and open to the public. More than 4,000 tickets have been sold for this show.

The Darling's Waterfront Pavilion will play host to the Dave Matthews Band tonight. There's no indication of how many tickets have sold to the event, however it sold out last time the group came to Bangor. Parking for this show is available at the Pickering Square Parking Garage, throughout Downtown Bangor, and at several private lots around the venue.

Motorists heading to the concerts are advised to leave early and be patient as there may be delays in getting to the venues. Put down the cell phone, stay alert, and be ready to stop. Bangor Public Works warns that the stretch of Hammond Street, between Union and Ohio Streets, will be closed tonight due to road construction. Finally, anyone who doesn't have to be in that part of town this afternoon and evening is advised to avoid the area.
