Explosives Truck

State Police say a commercial truck was stopped, while transporting explosive agents that were not properly secured.

Corporal Chris Rogers inspected the commercial vehicle on October 29th, on Route 197 in Richmond. The truck was being operated for Maxam Northeast LLC, which is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of explosives, and was traveling from Litchfield, Maine to Groton, New Hampshire. It was stopped during a routine Department of Transportation Roadside Inspection.

Police say the driver was hauling three different types of explosive blasting agents in the truck that were not properly secured. Federal law requires all hazardous materials to be protected against shifting and falling during transportation. Due to the violation, the truck was placed out of service.
