Which Mainer Should Have a Bobblehead?
Today is National Bobblehead Day. It's the 7th annual National Bobblehead Day. Did you know there is a National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum? I didn’t. And it’s in Milwaukee. I lived in Chicago for years, and also in Madison, Wisconsin before I got to move to Maine. Both cities area a short drive to Milwaukee.
I know I’ve got a couple bobbleheads, but I’m married so they’re packed away in a box somewhere. Of course most bobbleheads are sports figures, but I recall working with a DJ in Chicago and for a promotion they made a bobblehead of him. He said it was such a novel idea that it might be the "ultimate" in a career. And he’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Radio Hall of Fame.
Who should have a bobble head? I do need to find that box packed away down in the cellar, or up in the attic and dig through it. I recall a Bobby Orr bobblehead. He’s one of my last hockey "heroes" whom I’ve not yet met.
Other than sports figures they also have T.V. celebrities with bobbleheads. And to recognize National Bobblehead Day, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame is releasing two special edition bobbleheads of Chris Harrison, the host of ABC TV’s ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette.’ Here’s a fun fact: The Bachelor is in its 25th season.
Can you think of a Maine athlete or public figure that should have a bobblehead?
