The Maine Warden Service says a team of about 30 searchers is out today covering about 80 square miles in a search for a missing woman from Tennessee.

Warden Corporal John MacDonald says 66 year old Geraldine Largay was supposed to meet her husband a week ago but failed to show up.

Today's search area is approximately eight miles on the AT and begins about one-half mile south of the Caribou Valley Road and extends south to Route 27, near Rangeley.

Weather conditions are cloudy this morning with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. It is unlikely aircraft will be utilized today.

Searchers are out today  include Maine Game Wardens, Mahoosuc SAR, US Border Patrol, and the Maine Forest Service.
