Due to the lack of snow in most areas, at least during the early winter weeks, we have not been reporting on many snowmobile accidents. However, as more snow begins to blanket New England, we're sadly seeing that begin to change.

Just this past weekend we reported on a Mexico, Maine woman who tragically passed away following a snowmobile crash in Andover. The 46-year-old, identified as Dorothy McPherson, missed the ramp onto a bridge while she was riding alone and ended up crashing into a tree.

Now, just days later, WGME 13 is reporting that a 16-year-old was seriously injured on Monday after crashing into a tree on private property. New Hampshire Fish & Game Wardens responded to a call in the town of Chichester.

Wardens reported that the 16-year-old, a boy from Allenstown, had been riding on private property when he missed a turn and collided with a tree. The wardens say that the boy suffered serious, though non-life-threatening, injuries in the crash.

The article went on to say that the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and that they do believe that rider inexperience was a contributing factor in the crash.

The investigation, as of Tuesday morning, was still ongoing. This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available.
