Fall in Maine

So here's the scoop; time is running out to get your favorite Gifford's Ice Cream flavor scooped and served at their family stand in Bangor.

...suddenly there are things that are "Pumpkin Spice" that I would have never imagined (and am still not sure ever needed to be) put into this category.

Saturday morning will continue with a parade, vendors, pony rides and a petting zoo and more music. The evening will finish with a live concert from fan-favorites, Motor Booty Affair, at 7 PM.

From candy apples to pies, crisps, and fresh apple cider, Maine Apple Sunday is not just a fun activity, but an experience for your senses, too.

To give you both some information and some inspiration, here's a list of five orchards (within an hour of Bangor) where you can pick your own apples.

Announcing today on the Treworgy Family Orchards Facebook Page, this year is a nod to a classic childhood rabbit "tale".

We’re losing an hour of sleep, but at least we’re gaining sunlight, and that’s a beautiful sign that spring is right around the corner!

Of course there is always pie and crisp. And I could make some apple sauce. But I can't help but think there are more uses out there for these apples.

I must admit, I love autumn. What comes after, though, with its frosty mornings and endless shoveling of snow, not so much.

While it may still technically be summer, Mainers know that when autumn comes, it comes fast and hard. And the first signs of fall are here.
