Update: Three juveniles have been charged with robbery. Police are not naming the suspects.

Original story: The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery last night at the Etna Village Variety.

Surveillance video of the robbery shows a scary scene. Three individuals in dark clothing entered the store at around 9 o'clock Tuesday night, with one of the suspects brandishing a rifle or shotgun. They demanded money from the clerk, who handed over the entire cash drawer. The trio then made their exit without harming anyone in the store.

A portion of Route 2 in Etna was shut down temporarily while deputies searched for the suspects. At last report, however, they remain at large. Now, officials are asking that anyone who was in the area of the Village Variety, or who can identify the suspects in the surveillance video, to contact the Sheriff's Office at (207) 945-4636. They add that residents should not approach the individuals, as they were armed during the robbery.

This investigation is ongoing.
