Strong Winds Expected for Bangor Area Overnight Thursday
Forecasters are warning of powerful wind gusts throughout the overnight hours, Thursday.
Power outages are possible throughout the overnight hours, as a storm is expected to bring strong winds to much of Maine. WABI meteorologist Todd Simcox says winds could gust to 55 MPH in the Bangor area. Stronger gusts are possible across far eastern Maine, where gusts could exceed 55 MPH at times.
The strongest wind gusts are expected between midnight and 8 Friday morning.
The storm will also bring snow, sleet and rain to much of Maine. Accumulating snow is expected in areas of far northern Aroostook County. The Bangor and Downeast areas will likely see less than an inch of new snowfall, as precipitation will likely fall primarily as rain.
