Roads may be slick for much of the day Tuesday, as a storm could bring as much as half a foot of snow to Downeast areas.

The National Weather Service is calling for another round of snow for much of Maine. Snow is expected after midnight Monday into Tuesday morning. The steadiest snow is expected throughout the morning hours, then tapering to showers throughout the afternoon. The Bangor area could see 2-3 inches of new snowfall. Downeast areas could see as much as half a foot, as snow showers will linger longer into the afternoon.

Northern areas will see less snow from the storm. Areas north of the Katahdin region will likely see 1-3 inches of new snowfall.

Sunshine prevails for much of the week, with the next chance for snow coming Friday.

If you're new to the sport, we put together a list of gear you'll need for a fun, comfortable, and successful day on the ice. Some of these items are more essential than others. Some gear may not be essential at all, depending on how you plan to fish. Again, the items we listed are geared towards those who are new to ice fishing.

Before we get to the list, remember to dress appropriately for the cold weather. We didn't put warm outerwear on the list, but it's definitely a must-have.
