I just watched a story where the sheriff of one county in Georgia took the initiative to cancel Valentine's Day, urging people to stay home and off the roads until the snow could be cleaned up. It's probably not a bad idea considering many will take unnecessary chances and risk life and limb all for the sake of a few flowers, chocolates, and a card.

It's my guess that if your sweetie pie really loves you, he or she can wait a day or two until things clear up a bit.

So it's not really cancelling the event, it's postponing it for a day or two. Think of all the half-off Valentine's stuff that will be up for grabs. Just don't tell your snookums how little you spent.
