The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating after a camper exploded in Stetson.
Maine Fire Officials Say No One Was Hurt in the Stetson Explosion
No one was hurt in the incident that happened at around 2 p.m. on Monday. Stetson Fire Personnel responded to 301 Coboro Road to a report of black smoke and an explosion.

Maine Fire Officials Say Tannerite Triggered the Stetson Explosion
When firefighters arrived at the property, they found that the residents had placed Tannerite inside an old camper that was located behind the house. Tannerite is a binary explosive that's often used for target practice.
Maine Fire Officials Say a Stetson Explosion Caused a Fire, Threatening Nearby Woods
The Tannerite was detonated, which caused the camper to explode. That explosion then triggered a fire that threatened nearby woods, but firefighters were able to extinguish it before it spread.
Officials have not commented on why the Tannerite detonated.
This case is now under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's office to determine the cause of the explosion.
