Soup’s On in Surry – Sunday, February 19th

Did you eat any soup or chowder over the cold weekend. And for the record, thank goodness that is over. That was painful wind chill.

If you are a soup or chowder fan, and have a special soup or chowder recipe that you love to make, here’s a chance to show off and maybe win a prize.

Surry Community Improvement Association (SCIA) are hosting a soup chowder and cookie competition Sunday February 19th, the week after  Super Bowl Sunday, from one to three p.m. at the Surrey Elementary School.

This event will be open to the public and the intent is to provide an opportunity for families to get out and have some fun.

And oh yeah ,sample up to 10 different soups or chowders.

Plus there will be a variety of cookies

And  you will be able to vote for your favorites in a number of categories. Prizes will be awarded for best soup, best chowder, best cookie and best cookie by a youth

A $5 per person donation is suggested children under 10 admitted free If you have a favorite soup chowder or cookie that you would like to enter in this event you should do it at this great community event
