Forecasters are calling for a "Significant Winter Storm" this weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the largest winter storm of the season so far this weekend. Much of Maine will see snow and soaking rain for the storm, expected to impact the state Saturday into Sunday. The heaviest precipitation will be Saturday night into early Sunday. To the the north a foot of snow is expected, with blowing snow in areas.

The Bangor area could see 3-4 inches of snow, mixing with rain. Forecasters say there's "lower confidence in snow totals from roughly Bangor northeast to Houlton which is roughly where the rain/snow line sets up early in the storm."
