A woman sustained minor injuries this morning when her car hydroplaned and rolled over in Orono.

WABI-TV reports the woman's SUV hydroplaned across Forest Avenue, near the Orono Landing Road at around 9 a.m. The vehicle flipped over, which police say is most likely due to a combination of speed and over-correcting when the vehicle started to slide.

With plenty of rain in the forecast this weekend, motorists are reminded to slow down when the roads start getting standing water, or when the rain is coming down hard. Once the tires start hydroplaning, the driver doesn't have much control, much like sliding on the ice.
