According to a press release from Yum! Brands, nostalgia is making a comeback in the restaurant industry as customers look for comfort, familiarity, and connection.
Pizza Hut is leaning into that trend at 155 U.S. restaurants, where guests can find retro features like red cups, checkered tablecloths, vinyl booths, Tiffany-style lamps, classic arcade games, and the brand’s signature red roof design.

The retro-inspired restaurants have drawn attention on TikTok and Instagram, with some families traveling from nearby towns and states to visit the nostalgic locations.
The company says the renewed interest reflects a broader trend of consumers looking to food and familiar dining experiences for comfort, connection, and memories of gathering with friends and family.
Pizza Hut’s press release includes a full list of restaurants that have been approved by the company to convert to retro-inspired locations.
At the time of publication, none of the dozen Pizza Hut locations in Maine or any locations in New England were listed, with the closest retro locations found in New York.

And there you have it! While none of the Pizza Hut locations in Maine have been tapped to receive the retro treatment, maybe that could still happen down the line.
