Pi Day is Sunday
Sunday is not only the day that we Spring Forward, losing an hour of the weekend. Sunday, March 14th is also Albert Einstein’s birthdate. He was born in 1879, 142 years ago. And in Princeton New Jersey where he lived for over 20 years, the town celebrates with an annual Einstein look-alike contest.
March 14th is also Pi day. Pi is a never ending number and literally goes on for millions of digits past the decimal point.
However when most of us think of Pi, we think of pie.
My favorite pie has always been Blueberry pie. Years before I ever moved to Maine. I was born in Nova Scotia which as you may or may not know claims "Lobster” and “Blueberries” as theirs. So much so that when I was a kid and we’d travel from Toronto to Nova Scotia going through Maine by the way, my Mother would always load the back of the station wagon with a massive box of blueberries on the way back to use back home, “Because they don’t have good blueberries in Toronto”.
My second favorite pie is pizza pie.
Load up that ‘za with vegetables and I’m a very happy camper.
Sunday is the day. An hour less sleep, adjusting clocks, (although most of them adjust themselves now), eat pizza, eat pie, and since it's Maine, Whoopie Pie, and whine that our weekend is an hour too short. That’s 3.1416 things to take care of on March 14th.
