After a delayed start of the season, the Penobscot Narrows Observatory will open in time for Fourth of July weekend.

The Penobscot Narrows Observatory will open for the season Friday, July 3. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the opening of Penobscot Narrows Observatory was delayed.

The Maine Department of Transportation says: "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors will be required to wear masks. No more than two household groups (totaling no more than eight people) will be permitted on the observatory level at a time in order to facilitate social distancing."

Fort Knox opened for the season back in May.
