Q106.5 Morning Show Poll this morning is about going to the movie theater and when is the last time you did so.

Have you gone to the movies as much since the days began where we all can access so much at home.  Satellite, Cable, Streaming, Red Box.  And the snacks are better at home too, not to mention much, much cheaper

The 2021 Oscars are this Sunday night on ABC7 at 8 p.m. For Best Picture the nominees are: The Father. Judas and the Black Messiah. Mank. Minari. Nomadland. Promising Young Woman. Sound of Metal. The Trial of the Chicago 7.

Have you seen any of them?  Have you ever even heard of any of them?  Didn’t we all used to see some or most of the movies that were big enough to be nominated? At least, we had heard of them.  Okay, so admittedly, if you haven’t seen nor heard of them, they all have an equal shot at winning.  So I’ll give you a scoop.  The winner of Best Picture will be Nomadland.  If not Nomadland, The Trial of the Chicago 7.

Check and see if I’m right Sunday night, or Monday morning. Having not seen the movies nor even heard of them shouldn’t have any bearing on the selections made.

But it wasn’t that long ago that I saw a movie more than once. And some of them, like Shawshank Redemption, I know each scene so well I can’t do most of the back and forth dialogue, solo. And the movie is deep enough to have meaning. Sorry to sound like an old fart pining for the good ole days, but you kids today don’t know movies he said with his tongue in his cheek.
