Orrington’s Endless Yard Sale Starts Friday

Bargain hunters will flock to Orrington this weekend for the Endless Yard Sale, part of the town's Old Home Week.

All this week, Orrington is celebrating with a variety of activities, including a photo contest, used book sale, ice cream social, and chicken barbecue. But the most popular event remains the Endless Yard Sale, which brings folks from all over the region who enjoy a great deal.

The event's Facebook page says there will be more than 100 yard sales across Orrington, so it's a bargain hunter's dream. Most of the sales are held by local families, but some are for charity, including a sale for the local boy scouts. Shoppers will find everything from books to bookcases, toys to tools, and everything in between.

Finding your way around is easy. Just stop at any Orrington business and pick up a free map. That will show you where most of the sales are being held. There will probably be a few that didn't plan their sale in time to get on the map, but you'll find them as you travel around. All we ask is that you obey the traffic laws, look before crossing the street, and please don't slam on your brakes when you spot that zebra-striped couch that you just can't live without.
