Here's a great program if you are thinking about getting back into bicycling, but are not sure you're going to dive deeply enough to warrant heading to a bike shop and spending thousands on a 'professional' bike. Or maybe as your kids grow one has grown out of a bicycle they have had forever and it is time for a bigger bike.

Next Saturday, the 12th Orono - Old Town Kiwanis will be holding their used bike sale. The hours will be 9 until Noon and the sale will take place at the Kiwanis Auction Site, 168 Forest Avenue in Orono. They will begin with over 40 bikes all priced between $10 and $40.  These are full suspension and road bikes for high schoolers and adults.  They are all sold 'as is', but all are in working condition. Call them 'New to You' bikes. Discover the outdoors this summer.  We don't have to feel guilty leaving the house this summer. Maybe you have a goal of getting outside and pedaling off that pandemic 15.

Okay maybe you're not going to become the next Lance Armstrong.

That makes for a good use of a bicycle.  Buy the bike and it is yours to do what you want with it, right. Who is kidding who, last time I got on a bike it said 'One at a time'.  I sat on the seat and the tires squealed.

Back the Used Bike Sale. If the bikes do not sell out next Saturday morning, they will open on Tuesday evenings between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m, June 15th, 22nd and 29th.
