Old Town Area Power Outage Caused By Accident
A single car crash in Old Town last night is causing local residents to lose power as Emera crews replace a utility pole.
Old Town Police say 21-year-old Caleb Nute was taken to the hospital after being ejected from his vehicle during a single-car crash last night. The accident happened just before 10:30 on Main Street, in the area of the mill. There's no word on how badly he was hurt. Police say speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.
Emera Maine is reporting that 223 customers in Old Town and Orono are currently without power. The pole replacement work is expected to last five hours, so the goal is for electricity to be restored by 2:30 this afternoon.
