
New York Man Arrested in Maine with Nearly $69K in Illegal Drugs
A New York man jumped out of a window at an Oakland home before being arrested by local police and Maine drug enforcement agents.
Maine Police Arrest a New York Man for Drug Trafficking in Oakland
Brandon Seegars, 26, of Bronx, New York, was arrested on Monday in Oakland, Maine, on two counts of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agents went to a home at 65 Lakeview Drive in Oakland on Wednesday, accompanied by members of the Oakland and Waterville Police Departments, to execute a search warrant.
Maine Police Say a New York Man Jumped Out a Window to Elude Arrest
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says that when authorities arrived at the residence, Seegars allegedly jumped out of a window and tried to run. He was taken into custody with help from a Waterville Police K-9 team.
The residence was searched, and police seized the following items:
- 650 grams of cocaine HCL, with an estimated street value of $65,000.
- 13.2 grams of cocaine base, with an estimated street value of $1,350.
- 20.9 grams of fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $2,600.
The combined estimated street value of the drugs is $68,950. In addition to the drugs, $3,674 in suspected drug proceeds were found in the home.
Maine Police Say the New York Suspect Was on Federal Probation in New Jersey
Seegars is on Federal probation out of New Jersey for an alleged armed bank robbery. His bail was set at $75,000.
This investigation is ongoing, and police say additional arrests are expected.
