Northern Light Vaccine Clinic to be Held Tuesday Despite Storm
Northern Light Health will hold its vaccination clinic at the Cross Insurance Center on Tuesday, despite forecasts for winter weather.
Bad weather is a fact of life in Maine, especially in February. And this year is no exception, with the month starting off amidst a forecast of snow, wind, and a possible wintry mix on Tuesday. Coincidentally, that's also the opening day for the large-scale vaccination clinic at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Over the weekend, Northern Light released a statement indicating that the vaccination site will be open, as planned, on Tuesday, February 2nd, despite the predicted winter storm. Northern Light's medical staff will be at the facility to give vaccinations to anyone who has pre-registered and can safely get to the Cross Insurance Center, at the scheduled time of their appointment. Anyone who is unable to be there, due to the weather, is encouraged to call Northern Light Health at 207-204-8551.
Northern Light is scheduling vaccinations through its website, with new appointments being taken on Mondays. The number of available appointments is being restricted by the number of doses of the vaccine being delivered to the state, so residents are asked to be patient and keep checking back for any openings. Again, anyone who is unable to access the internet can use the COVID-19 vaccination hotline number, 207-204-8551.
The Cross insurance Center has been retrofitted to serve as a mass vaccination clinic, allowing Northern Light to accommodate many more people, in the course of a day. This will become more important, over the coming weeks, when the serum becomes more readily available.
