
Maine Deputies Arrest 6 and Seize $16K in Illegal Drugs
Six people were arrested, including three who tried to escape through the floor, during an investigation into illegal drug sales.
2 Suspects Arrested in a Maine Drug Bust are being Held by Border Patrol
Several agencies assisted in the search of a residence on the Ward Hill Road in Norridgewock.
Six people now face charges as a result of this investigation:
- Ariel Hernandez-Batista, 34, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, who is charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.
- Luis Marte-Mateo, 28, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, who is charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.
Both Hernandez-Batista and Marte-Mateo are being held without bail after the U.S. Customs and Border Protection placed a Federal detainer on them for allegedly being in the United States illegally.

Drug Agents Arrest 4 Maine Residents During a Norridgewock House Search
- Luke Silvia, 44, whose last known address was in Skowhegan. Silvia is charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs. His bail has initially been set at $50,000 cash.
- Randell Woods, 40, of Madison, is charged with possession of scheduled drugs, and violation of conditions of release. Woods was out on bail on unrelated charges.
- Denise Webber, 50, of Norridgewock, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Webber's bail was initially set at $100 cash.
- Jeremy Ross 46, of Anson, was arrested on on outstanding warrant.
According to the Somerset County Sheriff's Office, Hernandez-Batista, Marte-Mateo, and Silvia tried to evade the police through a hole inside the floor of the house. They were taken into custody beneath the residence.
Maine Drug Agents Seize Fentanyl, Cocaine, Pills from a Norridgewock Home
Seized as a result of the search were:
- Approximately 170 grams of fentanyl and cocaine
- Over 200 controlled pills
- $6,277 in suspected illegal drug proceeds
- Digital scales and other evidence consistent with trafficking.
Officials say the seized drugs have an approximate street value of $16,000.
More charges may be forthcoming in the future against other people who were in the home at the time of the search.
