A New York man faces heroin trafficking charges after police seized more than $10,000 worth of the drug at during a traffic stop on Verona Island.

Kayson Harvey, 22, of New York City was arrested Monday as the result of an investigation into drug sales at a Verona Island residence.

The investigation yielded 43 grams of suspected heroin valued at more than $10,000, as well as $3,400 cash that is alleged to be proceeds from the sale of drugs. In addition to the heroin, which was mostly in wholesale, bulk form, Harvey was also in possession of a number of smaller bags of suspected heroin prepackaged for distribution, according to police

Harvey is being held without bail at Hancock County Jail. More arrests are possible, police said.
