The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association is holding its 4th Annual Fallen Soldier Ride this Saturday to benefit local veterans and their families. The ride starts in Newport and travels through Maxfield and on into Old Town.

CVMA Treasurer Daryl Garland says it’s a fun, scenic ride.

"We ride from BB's Tattoo in Newport, it's a northern Maine country ride, for 86 miles. We'll be coming down Route 2 and ending in Old Town, right there by the American Legion, and having a barbecue."

Garland says the ride is only part of the fun, as there will be door prizes and raffles at the city park in Old Town and the American Legion Hall, along with lunch catered by Stevie’s Stagecoach.

Registration is from 8 to 10am at BB’s Tattoo Company on the Moosehead Trail in Newport.  Its 20 dollars per rider and 10 dollars per passenger to participate. All the money raised will be used to benefit local veterans and their families. For more information on the ride, contact Daryl Garland at 949-3737.
