Health Equity Alliance will give Mainers a chance tonight to meet the candidates for Governor in Bangor.

How many times have you arrived at election day and realized that you really haven't researched the candidates fully enough to make an educated decision about who would best fill the position? I think we've all done that, once or twice. But this year's election isn't one that should be fudged. It's important to start now finding out who the candidates are and what they stand for before we pick the next governor in November. The primaries are less than three months away, so it's a great time to put faces with the names and learn their opinions about some of the state's most important issues.

Tonight, starting at 5:00 at the Downeast School in Bangor, you can attend the Maine Gubernatorial Candidate Forum, where each participant will be given the chance to share their opinions about the opioid epidemic and drug policy, among other issues. The candidates taking part include:

  • Adam Cote
  • Mark Dion
  • Mark Eves
  • Ken Fredette
  • Terry Hayes
  • Janet Mills
  • Diane Russell
  • Betsy Sweet
