The Maine Principals Association has released its guidelines for fall sports, postponing some until late winter/early spring.

Governor Janet Mills' Administration worked with the Maine Principals Association and the Maine Superintendent's Association to develop the recommendations for handling sports activities for students, while keeping them as safe as possible.

"While these guidelines provide a strong foundation for how to safely play fall sports in Maine, we recognize that ultimately the final decision on sports will be made by local school districts," said Mike Burnham, Executive Director of the MPA, "based on their capacity for implementing the health and safety guidelines as applied to school sports - a decision and process that we wholeheartedly respect."

Detailed guidelines are available on the MPA website, but here are a few of the recommendations, including the postponement of Football and Volleyball until late winter/early spring.
